Montauk's Role

The F. R. Bowerman Landfill is owned and operated by Orange County Waste & Recycling. We operate the landfill gas collection system in addition to owning and operating the landfill gas-to-electric power generation facility. The power project is a major source of renewable energy for the local electric grid and sells its power to the city of Anaheim under a long-term power purchase agreement.
